[PSDI 012] Ian O'Donovan - Forever Untold (Satoshi Fumi Remix) - [Perspectives Digital] by Darin Epsilon published on 2012-03-07T19:06:53Z Ian O’Donovan is considered one of the preeminent Irish producers of the moment. After being discovered by Laurent Garnier in 2009, his music has gone from strength to strength, with continuous support not only from Laurent, but also industry heavyweights John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo. His use of melody and uplifting chords is polished, and it is this skill that has seen him release on highly esteemed labels such as Bedrock and Virgin. ‘Forever Untold’ is easily one of his finest productions to date. A simple arpeggio maintains the pulse while a grand symphony of elaborate melodies, harmonies, and organic-sounding piano and strings unfolds. It is an emotional piece that is so characteristic throughout all of Ian’s work. The remixers were carefully chosen for this project, and we can say with confidence that both of them truly delivered. Satoshi Fumi’s interpretation is more upbeat and highly reminiscent of early Detroit House while Holland’s leading lady Estroe takes the song into progressive breaks territory.
