09 trilobite by the brink/jeff phillips published on 2011-05-03T20:31:53Z This is a 'science-rap' song I recorded in Boulder, Colorado in 1995. I did the drum programming, played the keyboard parts, and added vocals. The song was inspired after I climbed Blanca Peak in southern Colorado, known to the Navaho as "Sis Naajini", the "home of the sky people." When I came down, it was as if I'd been contacted by "trilobite consciousness". I launched into a massive trilobite research project, began painting them on rocks and then did this song. Trilobites ARE your friends. Let's hope that when "man, the wise" is extinct, future inhabitants of Earth might wear fossilized humans around their necks!
