Betamax - Disco Dracula by BMKLTSCH RCRDS published on 2012-04-18T18:38:00Z Betamax - Disco Dracula It all started with a tweet, when Dutch journalist Edwin van Dalen claimed with his big mouth he could make a hit out of an old song in filterdisco style. A representative from the record label EMI challenged him, and so he asked befriended producer RipTidE to help him with this project. A project that soon became more than just a tweet and an idea. Readers from Metro, the biggest free newspaper in the world, could send in suggestions for a song that should be transformed into an updated version. The winning suggestion: ‘Soul Dracula’ by Hot Blood. After a while EMI stept out of this process and BMKLTSCH RCRDS was cheeky enough to pick this track up and let it see the light of day. If there’s ever any money to be made, Edwin and his musical partner Max don’t want to keep it to themselves. So they chose a good cause to send it to: Jail Guitar Doors (www.jailguitardoors.org.uk), a campaign initiated by the English singer-songwriter and political activist Billy Bragg to provide instruments to those who are using music as a means of achieving the rehabilitation of prison inmates. In short: a musical charitable organisation for a musical project. Releasedate 20-04 Contains tracks Betamax - Disco Dracula by BMKLTSCH RCRDS published on 2012-04-10T14:24:28Z
