Mallee Sunrise by offtracksound published on 2012-03-17T04:20:54Z Recorded mid-week in a remote section of the Victorian Mallee, this is a short segment which captures the sounds of a late-summer sunrise in low lying area between dunes. The recording has had a substantial amount of gain added to bring the sounds to a reasonable level but it's still fairly quiet. Birds that can be heard include Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater, White-fronted Honeyeater, Southern Scrub Robin, Shy Heathwren. There are low calls near the beginning and end which I can't identify. There were feral red fox in the area, and possibly also feral cats and goats. Very good atmosphere. Soft and no echos. Sounds like its been raining couple days and the soil is wet. 2017-01-02T20:35:05Z Comment by jeremy hegge really beautiful recording paul 2014-01-31T07:40:07Z Comment by Wild Ambience great gurgling call! 2012-09-05T09:08:27Z Comment by petershute What's this moaning call?
